Earthworks – In 2023, Earthworks is partnering with grassroots leaders to rein in the worst abuses of the fossil fuel and mining industries while working against the clock to promote clean energy alternatives that are truly just and sustainable.

Environmental Integrity Project – Political influence should play no role when the government decides whether to enforce laws which keep cancer-causing benzene out of the lungs of children, for example, or deadly coal soot particles out of the bloodstreams of the elderly. We do this by advocating for fair enforcement of environmental laws and regulations; writing and distributing reports and data; taking legal actions against big polluters and government agencies, when necessary; and by teaching communities how to participate in the public process regarding important state and federal environmental decisions.

For the Greater Good – We are FOR THE GREATER GOOD, a local grassroots community organization dedicated to the betterment of our community. At the very least, our local government should provide safe, reliable drinking water, a clean, safe environment to live in, and quality infrastructure for all its residents. We believe our governing bodies should place people before profits. For far too long, our public officials have neglected the people’s needs as they catered to industries’ demands. We will no longer tolerate such perverse priorities. We are working to organize and mobilize the community. We are working toward shifting the priorities of our elected officials and improving the overall quality of life in our community.

We have one goal that transcends all of that, protecting our homes, our children, and our quality of life.

Texas Campaign for the Environment       – empowering Texans to fight pollution, one door at a time

Texas Drought Project – The Texas Drought Project was born out of efforts by the Texas Climate Emergency Campaign to facilitate passage of the Waxman-Markey bill on climate change in 2008-2009. Its co-founders, Jere Locke and Alyssa Burgin, came to the conclusion that many Texans were not yet willing to attach the words “climate change” to what was happening in Texas, but they understood intrinsically that, as one citrus farmer remarked, “things were changing” in Texas climate, weather and most certainly, rainfall patterns.

Thus was formed the Texas Drought Project in June of 2009. Since that time the project has contributed much to the education of Texans—and others—on climate change and a number of large projects.
