Right on! Welcome to Island Democrats, the heartbeat of the Blue Wave right here on North Padre Island.

We hit the sand in 2016 when Precinct 40 Chair Craig Rogers and his wife Victoria decided to stop whispering and start making waves. What began as a search for sanity has evolved into a powerhouse grassroots movement. We aren’t just soaking up the sun; we’re out here crushing voter registration, hosting heavy-hitting candidate meet-and-greets, and leading the charge for progressive change in the Coastal Bend.

The tide is rising and our crew is growing. Craig is now joined by John Vaughn (Precinct Chair 81), while Victoria keeps our signal strong as our communications lead and a battle-tested community organizer with Indivisible Coastal Bend and LBJWCS.

Ready to dive in? Here’s where you can catch us:

Monday Morning “Covfefe” (10:00 – 11:30 AM): Rain or shine, we gather at the Island Starbucks at the base of the JFK Bridge. It’s the ultimate meetup for like-minded locals, candidates, and area leaders. Come for the coffee, stay for the views, and leave with a plan.
Third Thursday “Vote Blue” Happy Hour (6:00 – 8:00 PM): We take over the local spots—usually Perrin’s on the Water (15137 S Padre Island Dr)—to talk shop and build community.
