The Indivisible No Kings movement is a national grassroots campaign organized to protest what participants describe as the authoritarian overreach and “royal pretensions” of the second Trump administration. Originating in June 2025 as a response to a multi-million dollar military parade, the movement asserts that American power belongs to the people, not to “kings, dictators, or tyrants”. These nonviolent demonstrations have grown into some of the largest in U.S. history, with millions of attendees gathering in thousands of cities across all 50 states to defend democratic principles and the rule of law.
In Port Aransas, the Nueces County Democrats are hosting a local “No Kings” protest and march on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Demonstrators will gather at the corner of Alister Street and Avenue G (also known as Highway 361 and Cut Off Road), joining a nationwide wave of action aimed at protecting civil rights and resisting federal overreach. Organizers emphasize a commitment to peaceful, family-friendly advocacy and encourage participants to bring signs to the intersection to make their voices heard as part of this historic movement.
Other local groups include the Indivisible Coastal Bend ICB organization, which will be protesting in Downtown Corpus Christi March 28th from 2-5 pm. San Patricio County, Kleburg County, Beeville County and Aransas County Democrats will join Nueces County Democrats for the rally.
