Analysis of Nueces 2026 Primary Early Voting Numbers
Democratic turnout in the Nueces County Primary early voting was up. Way up. Democrats outvoted Republicans 54% to 46%. We hadn’t outvoted the Republicans in Primary early voting since 2020, when we got 54.7% of the vote. Our best year recently in Primary early voting was 2018, the Beto year, when we got 55.1%.
So we are doing well. But not well enough. State-wide, we haven’t won an election in 30 years. Our closest was 2018 when we lost by only 2.5%. This year, our Primary early vote numbers are close to those 2018 numbers. But we didn’t win in 2018. So we need to keep pushing. Keep talking to people. Keep protesting. Keep raising our voices against injustice.
We are within striking distance of taking a Statewide race. We can do this! So after the primaries, take a deep breath, relax for a couple of days. Recharge. And then let’s get back out there and take our Texas back! Craig Rogers Precinct 40 Chair Nueces County Democrats
