Conor Rice has earned our vote by listening to all of Nueces County
As we approach the upcoming election, those of us living on the Island and along our coast are looking for more than just a name on a ballot. We are looking for leadership that doesn’t stop at the Corpus Christi city limits. We need someone who truly sees the “big picture” of our region—from the salt-air households of NPI, Port A, and the Bluff, to the quiet rural stretches of Bishop and the resilient, hardworking streets of Robstown and Annaville. That is why I am wholeheartedly supporting Conor Rice for Nueces County Democratic Chair.
What sets Conor apart isn’t just his platform; it’s his presence. We have all seen candidates who only find their way to our doorsteps during an election year. Conor is different. For four years, he has been a constant fixture in our lives. He has sat with us at our Monday morning Island coffees, stood beside us at Port Aransas protests, and shaped the minds of our youth as a student teacher in the Bluff. He doesn’t just visit our Island communities; he invests in them.
Conor’s advocacy is driven by a genuine heart for people:
- Protecting Our Schools: He has stood on the front lines for public education, traveling to Austin to testify against vouchers and book bans, ensuring our classrooms remain inclusive spaces for every child.
- Fighting for Equality: He has been a tireless shield for the LGBTQIA+ community and a champion for DEI policies, proving that he believes everyone deserves a seat at the table.
- Demanding Better Governance: Whether calling for accountability in the County Clerk’s office or advocating for order at City Council meetings, Conor fights for a government that actually works for its citizens.
- A Voice for the Worker: As a member of the CWA union, he understands the kitchen-table issues facing working families. Through his co-hosted podcast, “All Politics Is Local,” he gives a microphone to the voices that are too often ignored.
Conor understands that a political party is only as strong as its grassroots foundation. He has spent his time listening to precinct chairs and volunteers in their own living rooms and at local events, building a vision of unity and active representation.
Nueces County Democrats deserve a leader who doesn’t just ask for our votes, but one who has earned our trust by showing up. Conor Rice is that leader. I urge my fellow Democrats to join me in voting for a brighter, more inclusive future for our county. If you want everyone to have a seat at the Nueces County “table,” please vote for Conor Rice for Nueces County Democratic Chair.
Sincerely,
Craig and Victoria Rogers / Island Democrats
